Im going to be honest, my crockpot and I are best friends. I am all for anything that saves me time and making my life easier when it comes to making dinner. I have finally learned after 2 years of having kids that crockpot meals are a lifesaver!
There is no mess, it cooks perfectly and it's done on time, every-time! HELLO! Thats what I am talking about.
My two year old has turned into the pickiest eater. He refuses to eat any kind of vegetables and thrives off chocolate milk and turkey bacon. I know, what a (horrible) diet. One meal he actually loves is pasta! Alfredo pasta to be exact.
One day, I thought I would try and out smart him by adding ham and peas into. It totally worked, he absolutely loved it!
Heres the recipe below.
Alfredo & Ham Penne - Crockpot Recipe
2 1/2 to 3 hours on low
- 2 15 oz Jars of Alfredo sauce ( I really like Bertoli brand)
- 1 box of penne pasta noodles
- 1 Tablespoons of minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of pepper
- 16 oz penne pasta
- 3 cups of Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 cup of diced ham
Cook and drain the penne the pasta. Add the pasta to your crockpot.
STEP 2- ADD YOUR REMAINING INGREDIENTS
Next, pour in the jars of Alfredo sauce, ham, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic, salt and pepper.
STEP 3- STIR
Give it a good stir mixing all the ingredients together. Set it on low and let the crockpot do the rest. Serve it with a side salad or, for an all-in-one dish, you can add peas directly to the pasta before serving.
